The Attorney General is part of both the judiciary and procuracy, according to Article 97 of Somaliland constitution, Article 99: The Structure of the judiciary. The judiciary consists of the courts and the procuracy. It is also part of special organs of the state. Article 113: The special organs of the state.

Independence of Judiciary - Separation of power is very clear in the constitution. Each branch is independent to its functions. Article 37(2) the structure of the state shall consist of three branches which are: the legislative, the executive and the judiciary. The separation of powers of these branches shall be as set out in the constitution. Each branch shall exercise independently the exclusive powers accorded to it under the constitution.
